We’re people that
love riding bikes - nothing more, nothing less. A group who love
the thrill of being away on two wheels. And most importantly sharing
what we have discovered over the last few years with the friends
we have made and the friends we will make, on every new trip. We
are more a ‘club’ of friends than a commercial company.
From the most experienced “fast” rider to the rider
who is just starting out we will give you a few days away that will
change your fun threshold of biking forever - that’s a promise.
Our
focus is on making sure that everyone has a good time and enjoys
their riding whilst away, to the absolute full.
We specialise
in taking small groups of riders away to a variety of European tracks.
From the most exhilarating Club circuits to the most challenging
GP circuits.
We run 2 types
of holiday:
Ride &
Ride – Where we ride to and from the circuit taking in the
most stunning routes and beautiful countryside. We pride ourselves
on giving our friends the opportunity to ride roads that can only
be described as awesome!
Fly & Ride
– For circuits further afield we offer a bike transport service
that will deliver your bike to the circuit and return it home at
the end of the holiday. All you have to do is fly to the nearest
airport to the circuit pick up a hire car with friends and drive
to the track.
And then there
is the social side of things - very important on our trips! Good
hotels, cold beer, fine wine and a group of people all with a single-minded
sense of adventure! We promise that you will make a whole new circle
of friends - even if you don’t want to!
Farside Sportsbiking
is the original European trackday holiday company. We run our trips
to have fun - and that means for us to enjoy ourselves, you have
to enjoy yourself! Small group size is the key. The number of riders
that will allow us to run an open trackday as opposed to running
groups determines the number of riders on a trip. That means lots
of track time, lots of fun! A small group also ensures that you
have the chance to meet most of those away rather than being a small
fish in a big shoal.
However, we
don’t molly-coddle you. For the road riding this is not a
guided tour with everyone riding in an orderly queue. We expect
people to be grown ups, so when we are on the road we let you ride
at your own pace, in small groups, meeting up for coffee, fuel and
lunch breaks. If you’re really unlucky you get to ride with
me. And as hard as we try we have yet to lose anyone! The van takes
the luggage so all you have to ride with is your wallet.
The aim of the day is
to allow riders to ride as fast or as slow as they want, when they
want. At the start of the day, after a comprehensive briefing we
split the group into two. After a couple of sighting sessions we
run the circuit open. For those more experienced riders this will
give you the best opportunity to make the most of the track. No
one telling you when to come in, just the chance to get out there
and ride!
We take away an increasing
number of riders who have never ridden on the track before. Whereas
a UK day can seem intimidating a day with us is relaxing and fun.
We give you the time to develop yourself and under guidance allow
you to explore your limits within your own time. If until now you
have wanted to ride a trackday but have been too nervous to try
then this is your chance! You will finish the day with the biggest
ever smile on your face!
Most of our trips average
around 35-40 riders. Out of that two thirds will be regulars with
the rest being those out for the first time. But there is no such
thing as a one timer! Once bitten…….! Most of those
in the club will do two or three trips a year with a dedicated few
destroying their bank accounts and coming away on them all!
We have an increasing
number of girls that ride with us. Not that that should be surprising.
The only look of surprise is the look on some of the guys faces
when they see Joanna go round the outside of them on the track trashing
yet another set of sliders!
We cater for
all types of rider. If you are fast then we promise you some fun
people to play with. If you are just starting out we will give you
the confidence in your riding in a weekend that would take a year
of riding in the UK.
A typical weekend
starts off at Portsmouth meeting up early evening before boarding
the overnight ferry. This is the first chance to introduce yourself
and start making friends. Once in France you’ll have 1, 2
or 3 days riding to the circuit, the trackday and the return ride.
We give you a fully organised (but not TOO organised) holiday on
your bike, including;
- Return ferry
crossing with cabins where applicable
- Luggage support
vehicle so you can ride with nothing more than a wallet
- The best
roads we can find with a comprehensive route guide
- Bed &
Breakfast in great hotels in towns we can have fun in
- A full and
exclusive trackday run as an open session
- A great bunch
of likeminded people
- More fun
than you can shake a stick at!
Most people
are sceptical about spending their hard earned cash when all they
really have to do is get on the bike and ride to a ferry. But then
you don’t get to experience all of the above. If we’ve
convinced you already then peruse the trips itinerary, complete
the form and send it off - we’ll contact you from there.
If you need
to be further convinced just call the office. But make sure your
wallet isn’t too near – because we’ll have convinced
you within 5 minutes.
Experienced or just starting
out, if you enjoy riding then this will be the highlight of your
biking year - until you come back the following month! We promise
you a few days away that will make you totally re-think your biking
life. Before you hand over any hard earned cash you are welcome
to come and join us at one of our regular pub get-togethers. Just
email or call and we’ll let you know when and where the next
one is.
All
you have to do is call. We look forward to seeing you very soon
for the ride of your life!
